EBS Universität is pleased to announce that Prof Dr Michael Nietsch has been appointed as the new Dean of the Law School. His appointment was unanimously approved by the Faculty Council

Prof. Nietsch, who has held the Chair of Civil Law, Corporate Law and Capital Markets Law and Head of the Centre for Corporate Compliance since 2011, will take up his post on 1 May 2024. Together with Deputy Deans Julia Lübke and Emanuel Towfigh, he will provide strategic leadership for our Law School and focus on preparing the next generation of legal professionals for the complex challenges of our time.

Professor Nietsch is particularly well known for his expertise in corporate compliance and the legal requirements of sustainability issues. His strong commitment to academic excellence is also reflected in his previous role as Vice Dean for Research. In his new role, Professor Nietsch will focus on the relocation of the Law School from Wiesbaden to Oestrich-Winkel and on strengthening the Law School's international visibility.

"We are confident that Prof Nietsch will inspire our students, faculty and staff to reach new heights and make a significant contribution to the continued success and reputation of our Law School and the University as a whole", said Martin Böhm, Rector of EBS Universität.
