Wegagen Bank S.C. visits EBS for Executive Education Programme
Tailored training for senior executives

Last week, EBS Universität hosted a delegation of senior executives from Wegagen Bank S.C., one of Ethiopia’s leading private banks, for a customised executive education programme on campus in Oestrich-Winkel. The programme was designed to support the bank’s strategic transformation journey.
Participants engaged with EBS professors and external experts to explore essential finance and management subjects, including:
- Risk management in uncertain and non-linear environments
- Treasury and investment strategies
- Strategy execution
- Digital transformation
- Managerial and behavioural economics
A key feature of the programme was its strong practical orientation. The delegation visited several leading financial institutions in the Rhein-Main-Area. At Helaba, discussions centred on corporate banking, export finance, human resources, and legal frameworks. At Commerzbank, the group explored international trade services, digital innovation, and the influence of global dynamics on markets. The programme concluded with a visit to the European Central Bank, where EBS alumnus Bernhard Stricker offered exclusive insights into European monetary policy.
The academic sessions were complemented by cultural and team-building activities, including a private boat trip on the Rhine and a guided tour of the historic Eberbach Monastery.
EBS Universität extends its thanks to Wegagen Bank for the successful partnership and engaging knowledge exchange.
