EBS Universität and GILT launch education initiative
New executive education programme on the impact of exponential technologies
New technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) are currently causing uncertainty in the management of many companies. To prepare managers for tomorrow's world of work, EBS University of Business and Law and the Global Institute of Leadership and Technology (GILT) are launching a joint executive education programme on the impact of exponential technologies on companies and their business models.
Technology is advancing at a rapid pace. Despite all the benefits, decision-makers need to assess the opportunities and risks of AI and digitalisation in the business. "Our new programme 'Implications of Exponential Technologies' deals with the fundamentals and terminology of exponential technologies as well as their implications for the direction of organisations, leadership and business model development," says Kai Förstl, Head of the EBS Executive School. "Instead of asking 'What is the technology?', the focus is on 'What does the development of the technology mean for my company?
The programme is aimed at managers and junior managers. In addition to AI, key technologies covered in the programme include blockchain and quantum technologies. "At the end of the programme, participants will be able to strategically develop and validate technology-driven innovations and business models and make their organisations fit for the future," says Robin Weninger, Managing Director of GILT.
Diverse teaching and learning methods for maximum practical relevance
The didactic design of the programme is based on the findings of neuro-educational research. The teaching and learning methods enable practical application in everyday working life, make learning fun and also encourage networking. These include traditional masterclasses as well as interactive formats such as hackathons, huddles and co-creation formats. After a five-day in-person start at EBS Universität's Schloss campus in Oestrich-Winkel, the programme consists of twelve weeks of online teaching with high-calibre lecturers from the industry. The programme concludes with a two-day face-to-face workshop on campus.
The programme starts in July 2024 for individuals. However, it can already be booked by companies wishing to train their own teams. Kai Förstl and Robin Weninger are in charge of the programme and will be supported by a 20-strong faculty of academics and practitioners.
New partnership for forward-looking further education
"With this joint programme, EBS and GILT are combining their strengths in the field of executive education," says Martin Böhm, Rector of EBS Universität. "EBS is contributing its many years of experience in executive education as well as its strong focus on leadership and soft skills. GILT contributes expertise in new technologies and dynamic forms of organisation. Together, we are creating a high-quality and unique executive education programme that optimally prepares managers for the challenges of digital change."
