EBS Universität celebrates 50th anniversary
EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht (EBS) marks its 50th birthday in 2021.
On April 6, 1971, Prof. Dr. Klaus Evard founded the European Business School with five German students and 24 students from the partner university in Paris at the time. Today, with its bachelor’s and master’s programmes as well as a law programme, EBS is a university with a clear international profile and modern, practice-oriented learning methods.
After a successful start in Offenbach/Main, EBS moved to the historic Schloss Reichartshausen in Oestrich-Winkel in 1980. With the founding of EBS Law School in 2010 as a second faculty and academic pillar, the founding process of EBS as a University began. The former management school European Business School was transformed into a private university: EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht. At its core, EBS Universität has always remained true to itself, has experienced many ups and just as many downs - has grown and become stronger. Since July 2016, EBS Universität has been part of the non-profit foundation SRH and thus has a strong partner at its side to move forward.
An anniversary year includes the remembrance of these special characteristics as well as a look into the future. EBS University will celebrate its anniversary - as far as the Corona pandemic allows - on September 11, 2021 with invited guests at the Campus Schloss in Oestrich-Winkel. The anniversary event will be rounded off with a homecoming for all EBS alumni, who will not only celebrate the 50th birthday of their alma mater, but also the 40th anniversary of EBS Alumni e.V., the oldest alumni organization in Germany.
