The Master in Marketing degree programme starts off with a real challenge: as part of the onboarding project, you will work together with your fellow students on a real business challenge – in cooperation with a notable company such as Procter & Gamble, Porsche or Amazon. I decided to study at EBS many years ago because I was particularly impressed by the small group concept with intensive learning units and targeted professional and personal support.
The degree programme consists of four semesters (120 ECTS) and closely intertwines theory and practice. In cooperation partnerships with companies, you will work on real projects and develop innovative strategies while receiving continuous supervision and individual coaching from our lecturers.
In the first semester, besides the onboarding project in a practical setting, the analytical and strategic foundations are laid in basic modules. The second semester gives you the opportunity to specialise in certain areas by taking elective modules, while gaining more in-depth practical experience in the marketing consulting field study.
You can organise the last two semesters in line with your individual goals. You have the option of either studying abroad at one of our partner universities (Semester Abroad Track) or or doing an internship at a company (Practice Track). The last part of the degree programme is set aside for your thesis. The master’s thesis can be closely linked to a company-specific matter. With an additional semester abroad on the Semester Abroad Track, you also have the option of obtaining a double degree.
The Accelerated Track gives you the opportunity to shorten the duration of your studies and complete your master’s degree in two semesters (60 ECTS). This requires a bachelor’s degree with 240 ECTS or equivalent professional experience for people holding degrees with less than 240 ECTS. You can find further information in the admission criteria.
Irrespective of your chosen track, professional development workshops held during your studies will teach you the key skills you need for your future career path, while the EBS Coaching & Leadership Hub will prepare you for a career as a leader. You also have the opportunity to improve your international language skills by enrolling on the foreign language courses offered by EBS Language Centre.
The Master in Marketing degree programme is divided into different phases depending on the track chosen. A particular feature of the programme is its high practical focus. Right at the start of your studies, you will be involved in an onboarding project, where you will devise strategic solutions for a notable company. In the basic modules, you will first be taught the analytical and strategic foundations needed for your later career. Building on these foundations, you will explore matters in greater depth in the elective modules and apply the acquired knowledge in the practical project. In the marketing consulting field study, you will learn first-hand by working on real-life business cases with one of our corporate partners.

We have designed the Master's programmes to be flexible. Depending on your level of knowledge, skills and goals, you can take the path in your studies that best suits you and your life circumstances.
Semester Abroad Track (120 ECTS)
With the Semester Abroad Track, you gain experience abroad and prepare yourself for an international career. This track comprises the first two semesters at EBS, the third semester abroad at one of our partner universities and concludes in the fourth semester with your thesis.
Practice Track (120 ECTS)
Have you already gained sufficient experience abroad? Then the Practice Track offers you the chance to focus on your practical experience. This track comprises the first two semesters at EBS, one semester for internships and one semester for your thesis. The long and intensive internships can be completed either in the third or fourth semester. The remaining semester is dedicated to your thesis, which may be assigned by a company.
Accelerated Track (60 ECTS)
Accelerate your career. The Accelerated Track gives you the opportunity to shorten the duration of your studies to two semesters. The prerequisite for this track is a Bachelor's degree with 240 ECTS or corresponding professional experience for a degree with less than 240 ECTS. Dual Degree
In addition to your degree at EBS Universität, you can obtain a second international degree (MBA or Master). Extend your studies abroad at one of our partner universities by one semester in the Semester Abroad Track and receive a double degree. This will give you more specialised knowledge in a broader international context and increase your international market value.
Onboarding project
Right at the start of your studies, you can expect a challenge in a practical setting with the onboarding project. You will work together in groups to come up with strategic solutions to a marketing problem at a notable company and present your results to top management, providing a unique opportunity to hone your strategic marketing skills.
Practical project: marketing consulting field study
The marketing consulting field study is a practical project that combines practice and theory. This project sees students draw on their marketing knowledge as well as their strategic and creative skills in real-life business cases. International companies such as Amazon, BMW, Porsche and FC Bayern Munich are visited on the accompanying excursion over the course of several days, giving students the chance to get to know them first-hand. The results of the group work on the cases will then be presented to the decision-makers at these hosting companies and discussed with them.

AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is a global not-for-profit organisation that brings together educators, students and businesses to achieve a common goal: to educate the next generation of leaders. Since 1916, AACSB has stood for the highest standards of quality, providing quality assurance, business education information, and learning and development services worldwide.
Wissenschaftsrat
In 2022, EBS Universität was reaccredited by Wissenschaftsrat, the German Council of Science and Humanities, for the next 5 years.
This academic seal of quality is awarded to non-governmental universities whose performance in teaching and research meets recognised scientific standards. The period of accreditation by the Wissenschaftsrat is for a maximum of ten years, depending on the outcome of the review process. The Wissenschaftsrat is one of Germany’s most critical science policy advisory bodies and advises the federal and state governments on developing universities, science and research. In the multi-stage accreditation procedure, which includes the submission of a self-report by the university and a visit to the university by an external group of experts over several days, the university is evaluated in eight key areas. These include its academic quality in research and teaching, its structures and equipment, and its quality assurance and development.
Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat
All study programmes at EBS Universität are accredited by the Accreditation Council and are reviewed regularly in cooperation with the accreditation agency FIBAA.
The superordinate Foundation Akkreditierungsrat is an association of the German federal states aiming for quality assurance in learning and teaching at German universities. Since 2018, following the conversion of the German accreditation process, the Akkreditierungsrat has focused on the decision of accreditations. These are based on reviews of the accreditation agencies on programme accreditations as well as system accreditations. Thus, the Akkreditierungsrat plays an essential role in the final evaluation of the respective study programme. The Accreditation Council only accepts expert reports from accreditation agencies that have the EQAR registration of the Accreditation Council. The degree programmes at EBS Universität have been assessed by FIBAA, which is notably recognised in business and economics.

In the interview, we evaluate your motivation and social skills. The decision factors are performance and learning motivation, as well as communication skills and willingness to act in a socially responsible manner, in addition to your own initiative and drive.
