Myriam Bechtoldt ist Diplom-Psychologin. Nach ihrer Promotion im Bereich Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie war sie Assistant Professor an der Universiteit van Amsterdam (Niederlande). Sie habilitierte an der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt und war danach, bis zu Ihrer Berufung an die EBS, Professorin für Organizational Behavior an der Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Ihre wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten wurden u.a. publiziert in Emotion, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, und Personnel Psychology.
Sie ist Mitglied im Editorial Board von The Leadership Quarterly und Associate Editor von Frontiers in Organizational Psychology.
Ihre Forschungsinteressen beziehen sich auf Gender & Leadership, Emotionale Intelligenz, Stress und Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz sowie psychologische Antezedenzien für Engagement gegen den Klimawandel.
Sie ist ausgebildete systemische Psychotherapeutin. Vor ihrer wissenschaftlichen Laufbahn hat sie als Redakteurin gearbeitet.
